Installation

After marking the location for the pillar, excavate a hole to approximately 1.2 meters (4 feet).

Foundation size is determined by the local authorities.

The top portion of the hole should be squared off to fit the dimension of the precast pillar base unit.

Fill Hole with wet concrete and set you precast base into the wet concrete. Set base to desired height and level

Let concrete dry over night.

If an electrical option has been chosen, the underground electrical source should be pulled up through the inside of the concrete base and connected to the electrical outlet box prior to filling with concrete.

Before placing the first layer component directly on top of the base, apply a quarter size dab of construction adhesive to the top of the base at each corner.

Repeat this gluing procedure between each layer.

Continue gluing and stacking the layers, until the desired height is reached.

For a fence or gate application, metal fence brackets or gate pins must be installed between the layers at predetermined heights.

This is achieved by carefully cutting a channel between two layers prior to stacking.

The bracket or pin is then inserted in the channel between the two layers.

Please note when using this application the core of the pillar should be filled with concrete, once stacking is complete, to set brackets in place.

While continuing to stack the layers to a desired height, repeat the gluing procedure previously mentioned, and check each layer for level and vertical alignment.

This is achieved with a level and a rubber mallet.

Ensure the vertical mortar joints of each layer are staggered from one another.

Upon placing the final layer, and applying caulking to the top, place the concrete cap on top of the pillar.

For a structural application, fill the hollow center core of the pillar with engineered designed concrete prior to placing the concrete cap on top.

The final step is to fill each horizontal joint between the components with a thin bead of "Concrete Crack Filler" (included). Wipe the caulked joints with a towel or your finger.

Tip:Cut the tube of concrete filler on an angle and do not cut the hole too big
